Cookery Classes
As Italians, we are naturally proud of our gastronomic heritage. As Tuscans, we specialise in the unique flavours of our own region. As owners of organic farms, we use only our own produce where possible, or sourced locally from reputable producers.

We would like to share some of this experience with you and, to this end, we have organised a number of cookery courses.
We have 3 and 4 day packages running in February, March, April (excluding Easter) and November and 7 day packages running in May, June (excluding 1st week), September and October.
Not a budding chef?
For those of you who accompany the budding chefs but are not so keen to spend your holidays in the kitchen, we have also organised concurrent 3, 4 and 7 day packages to keep you amused whilst the gastronomic experiences are taking place!
Women's Tastes
During December 2007 and January 2008, the Province of Prato, in conjunction with Marte Comunicazione, will be organising a series of cookery classes based around the lives and times of three famous Pratese women:
- Cunizza, descendant of the Alberti family and met by Dante Alighieri in the 9th Canto in Paradise,
- Margherita Datini, wife of the Pratese merchant Francesco Datini,
- Clemenza di Vannozzo Rocchi, much praised by Abbot Agnolo Firenzuola.
The journey through the recipes and culinary traditions of these women will take place on 14 December 2007, 17 January and 26 January 2008 respectively.
The first, on 14 December, will be at the historic palazzo Villa Guicciardini in Usella (near Cantagallo). The Villa del Mulinaccio at Vaiano will host the second on 19 January 2008 and the last – 26 January 2008 – will be at the Palazzo Buonamici in Prato.
The wines will be provided by a female wine producer from the Carmignano Wines Consortium and there will be visits to Pieve San Lorenzo and the Villa Giucciardini gardens. There will also be a medieval musical interlude.
Omar Giudice will be the chef, Adriano Rigoli will be the culinary historian and there will be an exhibition by two sculptors – Sirio Collina and Mario Artioli.
There is no charge for the cookery classes, but booking is essential.

The agriturismo consortium of Comitato APICE is delighted to be part of this initiative and offers all participants a 10% discount on the normal 3 night tariff.
