Wine Tours

Several of us produce our own wines. We would be more than delighted to show you the finer points of wine production – depending upon the time of year – and share with you the produce of our labours!

As well as our own wines, the Prato region is where Carmignano wines are produced (see www.carmignanodivino.prato.it).

In association with the Carmignano wine producers association, we would be able to help you arrange an excursion or tour around this particular wine-producing area.

Carmignano Wine

Carmignano produces three types of wine, all of which come from Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The producer will then add one or more of the following grape varieties: Canaiolo, Merlot, Trebbiano, Colorino, Colorino Syrah and San Colombano.

Vin Ruspo DOC Rosato di Carmignano
A rosé wine with a fresh nose. Good with antipasti, fish, risotto and pizza. 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Canaiolo Nero.
Barco Reale DOC
A young, fresh, fruity red wine. Drunk with pasta dishes, roast white meats. 75% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Canaiolo Nero, 5% Merlot.
Carmignano DOCG

Carmignano also produces its own Vin Santo which is at least four years old. 90% Trebbiano, 10% San Colombano.
